The Russian Defense Ministry has officially confirmed that the army has completely evacuated the western sector of the Dnipro River following the strategic decision of the Kremlin. The ministry also said that no weapon or equipment is left there.


Why Russia-Ukraine Fighting: After the Russian army left the city of Kherson, the Ukrainian army entered there on Friday. This is a very important turning point for Ukraine in the ongoing war with Russia because Kherson was one of the areas which Russia captured and held a referendum there. The withdrawal of the Russian army from Kherson is considered a major setback for President Vladimir Putin. Images and videos viral on social media show Ukrainian forces being welcomed by civilians in the Shumensky district of Kherson. The Russian army has completely left this city.

The Russian Defense Ministry officially confirmed that the army had completely evacuated the area west of the Dnipro River following the Kremlin’s strategic decision. The ministry also said that no weapon or equipment is left there. All Russian soldiers have come to the left bank of the Dnieper. The Ukrainian government had previously feared that Russian forces could do a lot of damage if they retreated from their positions in Kherson. However, these fears were once again confirmed as the video showed that the Antonivsky Bridge over the Dnipro River was damaged after the evacuation.

It is the only major Black Sea port on the Dnieper River that Russia has managed to capture and is the administrative capital of Kherson Oblast, which was one of the four territories Russia annexed in September. Whereas in northern and central Ukraine, the conflict is becoming increasingly stable, although the desperation for war on both sides is not over. The change in weather makes it difficult for both sides to move quickly.
